The German Dachshund Championship took place in Magdeburg on June 28th and 29th, 2025. Over 220 dachshunds from Germany and Austria competed in various categories at the racecourse.

The event, known as "Teckelwelt 2025," started on Saturday at 11:00 AM and attracted many dachshund enthusiasts. Besides the exciting races, there was a diverse supporting program. This included exhibitor stands, workshops, a bouncy castle, and a craft corner for children.

The dachshunds were divided into three racing classes: rabbit and miniature dachshunds, standard dachshunds, and dachshund mixes and other small dog breeds. Each dog was accompanied by two people. One held the dog at the start, and the other lured it in the target area. The 40-meter race track was enthusiastically mastered by the nimble four-legged friends.

In the standard dachshund category, Fiete from Tornesch (Schleswig-Holstein) won with a time of 5.6 seconds. The final race had to be repeated twice because no clear winner could be determined despite the photo finish. Frieda from Ludwigsfelde (Brandenburg) won in the rabbit and miniature dachshund category.

In addition to the races, there was a dog frisbee show, a photo booth for dogs, an enclosed free-running area for romping, and a dachshund exhibition. A bouncy castle and a craft corner were available for the young visitors. In addition, the world's only dachshund museum from Regensburg presented original exhibits and dachshunds like Moni, Blümchen, and Klein-Seppi.

The German Dachshund Championship in Magdeburg was a complete success and offered dachshund lovers an unforgettable experience. With exciting races, entertaining shows, and a varied supporting program, the event became a highlight for the whole family.
