A Heartwarming Reunion: Dog Found After California Fire

13:32, 15 January

Edited by: Екатерина С.

In a touching story from California, a man named Casey Colvin was reunited with his beloved dog, Oreo, after fearing he had lost him in a devastating house fire.

The emotional reunion took place in Los Angeles, bringing a glimmer of hope to a community facing hardship. On January 7, when the fire broke out in Pacific Palisades, Casey was at work and received an evacuation order as flames threatened his neighborhood.

Stuck in traffic for five hours, he worried he would be too late to save Oreo. During this anxious wait, he met NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz, who documented his plight. Casey had already rescued two of his dogs, but Oreo was missing.

After learning that his house had burned down, Casey remained hopeful. He distributed flyers to find Oreo, and Liz used her social media to spread the word. Thanks to her outreach, neighbors informed Casey that Oreo was alive.

Then, on Sunday, the miracle happened. Casey was finally able to hold Oreo in his arms. Liz shared the news on Instagram, expressing joy at the reunion. She wrote, 'The moment he saw Casey, he ran to him. An incredible and happy moment during such a dark time.' This heartwarming story reminds us of the strong bond between pets and their owners, even in the toughest situations.
