PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut) recently conducted a waste management education program for 497 students at SD Negeri 068426 in Medan Labuhan District. The event, held on August 2, 2025, was part of National Children's Day celebrations and a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagut, aiming to foster environmental stewardship among young students.

The program focused on enhancing students' understanding of waste management and empowering them to become agents of change. Interactive methods such as audio-visual presentations, storytelling, and Q&A sessions were used. Students also participated in hands-on activities, including waste sorting and crafting items from recycled materials like plastic bottles and cardboard. Collaborating with Bank Sampah HORAS BAH, Bank Sampah Induk New Normal, and the Medan City Environment Community, the initiative provided insights into waste categories, the impact of improper disposal, and the role of children in community waste management. Educators and local officials praised the program for its role in nurturing environmental consciousness and its potential for a sustainable future.
