Lucca Schools Excel in Recycling with 'Recycle 'Em All' Project in 2025

Edited by: Olga Samsonova

Nearly 500 students in Lucca, Italy, actively participated in the 'Riciclali tutti - Recycle 'em all!' project in 2025, a competition designed to boost recycling awareness. The initiative culminated in a final tournament held at the Polo Fiere di Lucca, involving 150 enthusiastic students.

Sistema Ambiente and the Municipality of Lucca, in partnership with Lucca Crea, launched this environmental education project to educate children and their families about the importance of recycling through gamification. The 'Riciclali tutti' card game, developed by Red Glove, effectively taught students about proper waste sorting techniques.

Twenty-one classes from Lucca's primary schools engaged in the project, learning the game's rules from Lucca Crea educators. The 2B class from 'Donatelli' emerged as the winner of the final tournament. Future educational projects are planned, including collaborations with Italian volleyball champion Andrea 'Lucky' Lucchetta at Lucca Comics & Games. The 'Riciclali Tutti' game promotes ethical behavior and fair play, encouraging competition as a means of self-improvement for both children and adults.
