Binance Launches Binance Junior for Supervised Youth Cryptocurrency Accounts

Edited by: Olga Samsonova

Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance introduced Binance Junior on December 3, 2025, establishing a specialized sub-account structure designed for minors aged 6 to 17, with allowances extending up to age 21 in certain jurisdictions. The launch, which took place in Dubai, signals a strategic focus on cultivating secure and responsible digital asset education within family financial planning frameworks, positioning the product as an alternative to traditional youth savings mechanisms.

Access to the Binance Junior platform is contingent upon stringent parental verification. Guardians must be existing, fully verified Binance users who have completed Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols and activated Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This oversight grants parents a comprehensive dashboard to monitor all transactions, facilitate account top-ups via master wallets or on-chain transfers, and retain the authority to instantly disable the Junior account. The product design centers on this parental control, explicitly restricting minors from engaging in speculative trading functions.

The environment within Binance Junior is streamlined for educational asset accumulation. Minors are limited to viewing balances, tracking savings progress through the Junior Flexible Simple Earn product, and transferring cryptocurrency between linked Junior accounts or back to the parental account. Teenagers aged 13 and older, subject to local legal requirements, may use a limited Binance Pay function for peer-to-peer transfers, capped by parental settings, such as a $400 USD daily send limit for Junior-to-Junior transactions. Crucially, on-chain withdrawals and transfers to non-parental adult users are prohibited to maintain the custodial integrity of the accounts.

The onboarding process requires the parent to initiate setup within their main Binance application, followed by the child downloading the separate Binance Junior application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Secure linkage is finalized when the child scans a unique QR code generated on the parent's device. To support this technological offering, Binance also released "ABC's of Crypto," an illustrated A-to-Z educational resource intended to simplify complex terminology for younger audiences. The availability of Binance Junior is jurisdiction-dependent, with minimum age requirements varying; for instance, Austria, Spain, and South Korea set the minimum at 14, while Brazil and Germany impose a minimum age of 16.
